The structure of GYFTY is to sheath 250μm fiber into a high modulus loose tube(PBT). The tubes are filled with a water-resistante filling compound. A fiber reinforced polymer wire(FPR),sometimes sheathed with polyethylene(PE) for high fiber count cable, locates in the center of cable as a strength member. PBT tubes(and fillers) are stranded around the strength member into a compact and round shape. The gap between the tubes is filled with water blocking compounds. Then the cable is completed with a PE sheath.
